Dimitra Maria Katsafadou was born in Athens and grew up in Mani from the age of 6 until she was 18. She then returned to Athens for her studies.
Dimitra graduated from the Department of Chemistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and obtained a Master's degree from the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, titled "Organic and Inorganic Synthesis of Cosmetics". She worked for seven years in a large pharmaceutical company before deciding to pursue her own dreams.

In 2016, Dimitra Maria Katsafadou founded La Vie en Rose by Dimitra Katsafadou, a Greek company dedicated to the production of cosmetic products. The story began in the most unexpected way: a small pot and a mixer in her home kitchen.
